The investigation surrounding the death of a German backpacker in Australia has unearthed a number of fresh leads which police in northern New South Wales hope will lead to the apprehension of Simone Strobel's killer. Strobel, 25, went missing from a caravan park in the town of Lismore on Feb. 11. The kindergarten teacher's body was found six days later, hidden less than 200 meters from the campsite where she was staying with her German boyfriend and two friends. Police say more than 30 people have called since the release of a computer compiled image of a man seen near the caravan park, around the the time of Strobel's disappearance. The man has been described as being between 40 and 50-years-of-age, thin, and at the time wearing a pale green shirt.
