Promise of a new era in science - researchers in Geneva collide particles at record energy levels

Constanze TressMarch 30, 2010

Scientists outside Geneva say they recreated the conditions that existed some 14 Billion years ago that led to the Big Bang and the creation of the universe. The experiment involved the high-power collision of sub-atomic particles at the CERN particle collider. The European Centre for Nuclear Research hopes its work will reveal the nature of matter and the origin of stars and planets.
