Public online voting has started for Deutsche Welle's KLICK! photo competition. Internet users can choose their favorite pictures at the competition's website, WWW.DW.DE/KLICK, until May 30th.

This year, contestants were asked to depict "Your View of Culture and Education".

The ten finalist photos will be determined by the greatest number of online votes and will be shown at this year's Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum from 25 - 27 June in Bonn. Conference participants will select the three top winners. First prize is an iPod Nano (8 GB). The runner-up will receive an iPod-Shuffle (2 GB) and third prize is a USB flash drive.

Entrants from around the world submitted their photos depicting themes related to culture and education. The deadline for submissions was April 11th.

2012 Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum

The competition reflects the theme of this year's Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum, "Culture. Education. Media. Shaping a Sustainable World".

Partner organizations of the three-day gathering include the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Confederation of German Employers' Associations (BDA), the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), the German Development Institute (DIE), the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the World Catholic Association for Communication (SIGNIS), the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), CARE Deutschland Luxemburg, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the Commonwealth of Learning and other organizations.

The 2012 Deutsche Welle Global Media Forum takes place under the patronage of the German Commission for UNESCO. The conference is co-hosted by the Foundation for International Dialogue of the Sparkasse in Bonn and also supported by Germany's Federal Foreign Office, the European Regional Development Fund, the Minister of Federal Affairs, Europe and the Media for the State of North-Rhine Westphalia, the City of Bonn, DHL, the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the Fritz Thyssen Foundation.
