Rescuing ancient treasures

Kathrin Mälk keeps materials that are thousands of years old from disintegrating. She works in the Museum of Byzantine Art in Berlin, which owns one of the world's most important collections of garments from antiquity. She reweaves hairnets from ancient Egypt and restores linen wrappings on real mummies.
