A roadside bomb exploded outside a hospital in suburban Istanbul on Tuesday morning, injuring at least 15 people, Turkish news agency Anatolia reported.

Reports say the bomb went off in Kucukcekmece, a western suburb on the city's European side. Officials believe the bomb was directed at a passing police bus.

The bomb's victims, who included police officers and passersby, were hospitalized.

Security has been particularly high in Istanbul because of a summit on international security, attended by several international leaders, including Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
