Russia is due to start pulling troops out of Georgia in a few hours time under a six-point ceasefire deal brokered by France. But new tensions are building over Russia's plans to deploy what it calls a peacekeeping force for South Ossetia. The EU and US are keeping up the pressure on Russia. German Chancellor Angela Merkel travelled to the Georgian capital met with Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili and assured him that his country will eventually become a member of NATO.
