German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder will travel to Bosnia-Herzegovina and Turkey in the first week of May. The chancellor's visit should, according to a government spokesperson, deepen the economic and political ties to both countries. On May 3, Schröder will meet in Sarajevo with the president of the ministerial council, Adan Terzic, and High Representative and EU Special Representative Paddy Ashdown. While in Bosnia, Schröder will also visit the German EUFOR troops stationed in camp Rajlovac, near Sarajevo. On May 4, the chancellor will meet the Turkish president Ahmet Sezer and prime minister Recep Erdogan in Ankara. The chancellor is also expected to participate in a Turkish-German economic conference.
