Located off the coast of Ireland, Tory Island is famous for claiming to never have had rats. Its 140 residents think this is due to the island's special clay.

Although there's no scientific proof to support their theory, island residents claim their clay is sacred. It's regularly removed from the grave of seven people found dead in a boat which was washed onto the island more than a century ago. The sacred clay has made the island famous. Many here hope this will help it attract more visitors and tourist revenue.
