Shooting at Vienna restaurant, 1 dead

One person has died in the Austrian capital, Vienna, after shots were fired at a restaurant. Police said that a manhunt was underway for the suspect.

A man opened fire on two people in central Vienna on Friday afternoon, leaving one person dead and another injured. 

The shooting, which took place when the streets of the Austrian capital would be packed with pre-Christmas shoppers, triggered a major police manhunt backed by a helicopter. 

Police said there did not appear to be a terrorist motive and the gunman had targeted the two vicitms. There was no immediate danger to the public, they said.
