The newly merged Sony BMG Music company, the world's second largest music company, will move their German headquarters from Berlin to Munich, company officials announced. Sony Music officials didn't want to comment on the matter Monday, but said the company would keep some sort of presence in the German capital. "We're still waiting for word from New York," said a company spokeswoman, referring to Sony BMG Music's international headquarters in the US. Currently 230 people are working for Sony Music in Berlin. Government officials for the city state said they regretted the decision, but added that they expected Berlin to keep expanding its position as a center for the entertainment industry. A few months ago, MTV Central Europe relocated from Munich to Berlin and Universal Music also moved to the capital from Hamburg.
