Globalization offers both risks and opportunities. Countries can achieve significant benefits from future globalization as much as companies and people. But what kind of environment is favorable to business and people? How does one ensure that everyone benefits from globalization and that the gaps between rich and poor people and within countries don’t grow further?

"Globalization - Opportunity or Risk" is the topic of the debate which DW anchor Sarah Kelly discusses with this distinguished panel:

Dr. Frank Appel, CEO Deutsche Post DHL. Deutsche Post is the world´s largest courier company with over 460.000 employees.

Witold Orlowski, Chief Economic Adviser for PricewaterhouseCoopers, Poland. Mr.Orlowski was chief economic advisor to the President of Poland and advisor to the Chief Negotiator of the EU membership of Poland.

Josef Janning, Political Scientist, European Council of Foreign Affairs. Mr.Janning had held teaching positions at the University of Mainz, the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and Renmin University of Beijing.

Prof. David Brady (USA), Sociologist, Berlin Social Science Center. Prof. Brady is also Adjunct Professor, School of Public and Environmental Affairs of Indiana University.
