Street musician Alice Phoebe Lou

Alice Phoebe Lou can fill an entire stadium with her sound, but she’d rather to perform on the sidewalks of Berlin. We meet up with the South African artist to find out why she prefers the street to the studio.

Alice Phoebe Lou is originally from South Africa, and today lives in Berlin. Though she’s gained quite a following with her socially-conscious songs, she prefers to perform with just a guitar in hand, on the sidewalks of Berlin. Major record labels have tried to woo her, so far to no avail. She produced her debut album, “Orbit”, single-handedly – and that’s how she plans to continue.
