The state capital of Baden-Württemberg is also associated with innovative architecture such as the modernist Weissenhofsiedlung as well as the Staatsgalerie and the Kunstmuseum buildings.

Stuttgartboasts pioneering architecture from a range of eras - from the Renaissance Altes Schloss to the Art Nouveau market hall and the postmodernist Neue Staatsgalerie. The cityscape thrives on such contrasts.

Stuttgart’s legacy for the automotive world is illustrated in not one but two spectacular museums – run by Porsche and Daimler-Benz respectively. They feature icons of German automotive history, including a matt-silver Porsche 356/1 roadster and a Mercedes 300 SL Coupé with red leather seats and gullwing doors.

Visitors can indulge in the traditional Swabian lifestyle in the vineyards surrounding the city or at local restaurants serving specialties such as Gaisburger Marsch, a traditional stew.
