Foreigners killed in Kabul blast

A suicide bomber has blown up a bus carrying foreign and local contract workers near the Afghan capital, Kabul. At least nine people, believed to have been foreign workers, have been killed.

According to the head of Kabul police's crime investigation department, General Mohammad Zahir, eight victims of blast were identified early Tuesday as being foreign workers.

"Eight foreigners, whose nationalities have not been identified yet, and an Afghan died in the bombing," said the police chief. The ninth victim was reportedly an Afghan translator.

The mini-van was targeted as it travelled along a major highway leading to Kabul International Airport.
