Syrian government troops have arrived in the north of the country, setting up a potential showdown with Turkish forces who are in the same area. The Syrian army has teamed up with the Kurds who have until now, controlled the border region. The Kurds reached out to the regime of Bashir al Assad to fend off a Turkish invasion.
