The 77 Percent: Learning made easier

The official language in Senegal is French, but people all over the country speak up to 21 other national languages. This poses a problem for many children when they start primary school at age six or seven. New research has shown that learning in your mother tongue gives better results. So far around 50 classrooms in Senegal are giving it a try.
