On Sunday the Champs-Elysées transformed to a pedestrian zone. Thousands of Parisians and tourists from all over the world strolled along the 1.5 kilometers between the Place de la Concorde and the Arc de Triumph. In the future, the four-lane artery will be car-free every first Sunday of the month. The mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo wants to reduce overall traffic in the city.
