During their deployment in Afghanistan, the German military employed many local citizens. It was dangerous work, and has only become more so now that the German military has withdrawn. The former Afghan employees and their families are now being threatened by the Taliban. The German government has promised speedy and unbureaucratic assistance, but that help isn’t coming quickly enough.
