Semyon Semyonov was born and raised in a village near Birobidzhan in Siberia. Recently, he was admitted to an honours class and is supposed to debut at the premiere of "The Nutcracker" at the Mariinsky Theatre in Vladivostok - the eastern subsidiary of the great Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg. Semjon lives far away from his home and rarely sees his parents. The training is hard. Every day, without exception, 11 year-old Semyon needs to stretch and strengthen his muscles as well as practice steps and jumps. Not just at the Academy, but also on his rare visits home. Will Semyon persevere, will he successfully have his premiere on the ballet stage in Vladivostok? A report by Yuri Rescheto.
