This year's Oberammergau Passion Play premieres on May 15, 2010. The season features 102 performances until the finale on October 3, 2010, in the village of Oberammergau in southern Germany.

Performances take place five times weekly - every day except Mondays and Wednesdays. Part One is held from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. After a three-hour break, Part Two continues from 8:00 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.

The play is performed in the town's Passion Theater, which offers around 4,700 seats in an enclosed auditorium.

Tickets

Oberammergau sells tickets to the play either in packages that include hotel accommodations or as single tickets for guests who live nearby or otherwise do not require an overnight stay. Single tickets were sold out, but a limited number have recently become available again. Check availability on-line.

The available ticket packages include either one- or two-night stays. With each package, guests choose from among 13 categories of accommodation ranging from luxury hotels to simple private rooms. Prices for one-night packages begin at 199 euros (about $262), and prices for two-night packages begin at 275 euros. Some meals are included in both packages.

Travel
