Westerwelle held talks in Istanbul with his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu

German foreign minister Guido Westerwelle has praised the government of Turkey for mediating in the dispute over Iran's nuclear programme. Westerwelle's comments came after talks in Istanbul with his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu. The two also discussed Turkey's bid to join the European Union.
