The Bogner company has been outfitting the German Olympic team since the 1930s. When Willy Bogner took the reins of the company in 1977 after his father's death, the name Bogner wass already known as the "Dior of skiwear" thanks to its elegant designs. Willy Bogner expanded the company into an international fashion label by including lines of golf and children's apparel as well as traditional wear. Today the 700-employee firm enjoys sales of nearly 700 million euros annually. For London 2012 the Munich-based entrepreneur is, for the first time, fitting out a German team for the Summer Olympic Games. Willy Bogner first made a name for himself in the 1960s as a skiing ace. The Munich native was on the German Olympic skiing team in 1960 and 1964. Also, as a cameraman he filmed skiing stunts for several James Bond films and even sat in the director's chair for the 1986 skiing film "Fire and Ice." Today at 70, he runs his company together with his brazilian-born wife Sonia. They adopted two children from Brazil.
