Radio is the most important source of information for many people. DW Akademie works with partners around the world to achieve the goal of giving people a voice on the radio.
"On air" and up close
DW Akademie empowers radio producers worldwide. News is broadcast in local languages, dialogues in communities are moderated and people's concerns addressed. Radio promotes freedom of expression and access to information. Here, an indigenous radio journalist at northern Guatemala's Radio Sayaxché hosts his program in Q'eqchi', the local Mayan language.
