Wolfsburg is the most intriguing team in the Bundesliga.

That's the first time I -- or perhaps anyone -- has written that sentence. But it's true. Under coach and commercial manager Felix Magath, the formerly toothless Wolves have found their bite, finishing 5th last season. And after a productive summer break, many think they could even jump into the top three.

Magath has completely revamped the squad and, for the 2008-09 campaign, he's added Italian internationals Andrea Barzagli and Cristian Zaccardo. They've also picked up creative midfielder Zvejzdan Misimovic, one of the most underrated players in the league. Misimovic should be able to fill the gap left by Marcelinho and help link up Wolfsburg's back and front lines.

Magath's biggest problem may be finding playing time for all of his potential candidates, so the acquisitions are over -- for now.

"At the moment, we've ended our activities on the transfer market," Magath said. "But if another striker fits, there could be one coming."

Talk about an embarrassment of riches.
