Regional Director Middle East and North Africa, Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, Cairo, Egypt
Ronald Meinardus is the regional director of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Liberty (FNF) in the Middle East and Northern Africa. Before taking up this position in Cairo in 2007, he served as the representative for the foundation for ten years in Asia, and before that in Athens, Greece. A journalist by profession, Meinardus received his training at Deutsche Welle where he worked in various positions, among them Head of the Greek Service. Meinardus is a commentator on liberal matters and developments in the Arab world.
