Karin Nordmeyer is a long-time human rights activist and senior advisor on women’s rights issues. She is president of the UN Women National Committee Germany, ZONTA International Committee chairperson and gender equality expert to the Conference of International Non-Governmental Organisations of the Council of Europe. She looks to promote gender equality as a common issue for women and men in a changing world, to empower women and to fight all forms of gender-based violence in times of peace and in situations of armed conflict. By profession, Nordmeyer is a music director and musicologist.
