Thomas Pogge is Leitner Professor of Philosophy and International Affairs at Yale University, Research Director of the Centre for the Study of Mind in Nature at Oslo University and Adjunct Professor at the Centre for Professional Ethics of Central Lancashire University. He edits the social and political philosophy section of the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy and is a member of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters. His latest books are World Poverty and Human Rights: Cosmopolitan Responsibilities and Reforms(Berlin 2011); Kant, Rawls, and Global Justice (Chinese, Shanghai 2010); Politics as Usual: What Lies behind the Pro-Poor Rhetoric? With research funding from the BUPA Foundation and the European Commission, Pogge led an interdisciplinary project group which seeks to structurally improve access to new medications through a new funding instrument for pharmaceutical research.
