Many Germany fans — like this one at Luzhiniki Stadium in Moscow — were flabbergasted with their national team's World Cup performance. This fan has just witnessed Germany's 1-0 opening-match defeat to Mexico on June 17.
Underwater soccer
They play soccer a little differently at the Haiching Whale Shark Ocean Park in Yantai, a province in northern China. These scuba swimmers brought their game below the surface to commemorate the start of the World Cup in Russia.
Halfway there
Ameya Vaidyanathan was left with half a car after smashing into the rear of Junior Ticktum's Red Bull car at the Norisring Nürnberg Formula 3 Euroseries. Vaidyanathan had a clean driving record before the crash but was banned from driving in the final F3 race of the season.

At the college baseball World Series in the United States, Jax Biggers (left) and Carson Shaddy (right) of the Arkansas Razorbacks celebrated their team's victory over the Oregon State Beavers in style.
