Lena Guesnet is a researcher at the Bonn International Center for Conversion. She has been working in the program area “natural resources and conflicts” since 2008. She has conducted case studies on the influence of natural resources on violent conflict in several countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. This research has led her to Chad to investigate the repercussions of oil investments on the local and national level. She also conducts research on how good resource governance can prevent conflicts surrounding natural resources.
Guesnet holds a Diploma (MA equivalent) in political science, law, peace and conflict studies from Marburg University in Germany.
